Several Handgun designs, all done in Photoshop. This took several hours.

Enjoy!

Looks good! I can see some Trigun in that bottom weapon, but they all look good.

Pistol clips aren't often open-fronted like that.

What PS tools did you use to draw these?

As a matter of fact all of the handguns are based on real handguns, althou some are altered in more ways than others. You were correc when you said that you saw some Trigun in the final version, the reverse slide action is where I drew inspiration. As for the clips being open faced, I did that intentionally because I wanted to show the bullets in detail. I used mostly the paintbrush tool on a low opacity, and a few other tools.

I really like your lighting technique. I can see how it got better from the top gun to the bottom one as you messed with it more. I like the glock and the bottom-most gun the best. Hmm, I really can't think of anything really criticle to say about them.

Wow, saying "but they all look good" makes it look like I'm being more critical than I mean to be; I mean to say I'm impressed by your sense of proportion and portraying 3d objects on 2d medium.

How'd you get the lines so perfectly straight?

:icondawnflyer:
The four handguns were drawn on four seperate peices of paper and then
finally merged into one drawing. On each of the four handguns I used a
straight-edged ruler to ensure that the pencil art was straight. Then when
I traced the line art with my tracing paper and .01 pen, I used the same
ruler over the original straight line with the .01 pen to acheive a straight
line. After the line art was imported into Photoshop, I cleaned up the line
art in various places, and when it came to lines that needed to be straight,
I used a simple technique that I discovered for making straight lines in
Photoshop (select the pencil tool, then select the first place you want for
the endpoint of your line then hold down the shift key and select the second
endpoint; Photoshop will then connect the two endpoints with a straight
line.)

Hope you found this information useful.

I love how you capture the small details in the guns :D
I love the Glock, I've actually tried to draw a gun basing this single picture of your guns... It worked okay.. But that's enough about me..
Great work (Y)
